Caere Corporation has introduced OmniForm Internet Publisher, a paper-to-electronic forms solution for the Internet.
With Omniform Internet Publisher, existing forms can be converted into electronic forms, or new forms created from srcatch. For maximum compatability, OmniForm Internet Publisher will create HTML forms and their associated processing scripts. Alternatively, Caere's new non-proprietary Open Form Mark-Up Language (OFML) will retain the visual appearance of the original.
The software also supports Adobe's Portable Document Format (PDF). The OmniForm Filler Plug-In allows users to view, fill-out, print and submit data. The Filler Plug-In performs automatic simple calculations and data validation and is compatible with Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer.
OmniForm Filler Plug-In for Windows and sample forms are available free at at the Caere site. Beta versions of OmniForm Internet Publisher will be available in July with official shipments scheduled for October. OmniForm Filler Plug-In for Macintosh will be available in late 1996.
The retail price for OmniForm Internet Publisher for the Windows 95, NT and 3.1 environments is US$695.
