Metrowerks Inc. announced the availability of CodeWarrior for PlayStation DR1, a development environment for creating software titles for the PlayStation game console, and MW CodeManager 3, Metrowerks' cross-platform revision control system which is fully compatible with Microsoft SourceSafe 4.0a.

CodeWarrior for PlayStation DR1 is hosted on Mac OS and Windows 95/NT and is authorized by Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. It features the full CodeWarrior IDE, a plug-in CodeWarrior C/C++ compiler for MIPS and a selection of integrated graphical format converters for managing game development with the CodeWarrior IDE. CodeWarrior for PlayStation DR1 is Metrowerks' first CodeWarrior product hosted on Windows 95/NT.

MW CodeManager 3 features a new plug-in interface for the CodeWarrior IDE which allows programmers to perform version control operations directly from within the CodeWarrior IDE. It also features the new CodeManager Administrator, a stand-alone application which integrates administrative features previously deployed through third-party tools such as MPW and ToolServer.
