Westwood Studios announced that it is airing two different television spots on MTV to promote the release of Command & Conquer Red Alert, the most anticipated game of the year. The commercials air November 25 through December 31, 1996, and will be featured during the MTV special "12 Days of Christmas" later in December. Each spot is 30 seconds long and features game footage as well as live action battle scenes.

"In trying to spread the word about Command & Conquer Red Alert, we hope to expand beyond the traditional advertising vehicles available for PC video games," said Brett W. Sperry, President & CEO of Westwood Studios. "MTV actually delivers a well targeted audience for our message."

"MTV is great medium to introduce exciting new PC CD-ROM products to hip young viewers. We have targeted that audience by creating two explosive, cutting-edge Command & Conquer Red Alert spots that will really change viewers' perception of PC CD-ROM games," said Thomas Puckett, President and CEO of Thomas Puckett Advertising based in Las Vegas. "These commercials will really catch people's attention and leave them wanting more."

Red Alert, the next installment in the Command & Conquer Universe of Games, follows on the heels of the PC CD-ROM smash hit Command & Conquer which has sold over a million copies worldwide.
