DCI's Internet Expo to Focus on Best Practice Solutions for Internet Players, Industry

DCI announced that they are bringing DCI's Internet Expo back to the San Jose Convention Center, February 18-20, 1997. The Internet is now a key deciding factor in the way businesses are being run, and which organizations and careers survive into the 21st century. The ground rules are changing with every innovation, and it's not just a matter of keeping up with Web technology innovations anymore. The solutions demonstrated at DCI's Internet Expo supplement this re-engineering of business practices and the inclusion of the Internet into nearly every company today.

DCI's Internet Expo, co-chaired by Dale Dougherty, President, Songline Studios, and Einar Stefferud, President, Network Management Associates, Inc., will offer eight core conferences designed to cover the most important issues relating to the Internet, Web and EMail technologies. These include: Web- Enabled Marketing, Intranet Solutions, Hot New Internet Technologies, Commerce on the Net, Best Practices in Electronic Commerce, and Business Strategies for Extended Messaging.

Keynote presentations and featured addresses for DCI's Internet Expo include: Ed Zander, President, Sun Microsystems Computer Company, Mitchell Kertzman, President and CEO, Sybase, Inc., Joseph Marengi, President, Novell, Inc., Ellen Hancock, Chief Technical Officer, Apple Computer Inc., Gary Bolles, COO, Evolve, and Jim Sterne, President, Target Marketing.

Running as a subset of DCI's Internet Expo, the Client/Server on the Internet Conference has three tracks designed to introduce the topics surrounding client/server on the Internet. The conference lays out a road-map for the next five years of application development and how to take advantage of the imminent changes. Dr. George Schussel's chair address for this session, Browser/Server Computing: The Next Generation, will present an overview of client/server architectures, past, present and future and their role in the design and implementation of Internet hosted applications.

On Wednesday, February 19, from 11:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Thursday, February 20, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., DCI's Internet Expo exhibits will be open to the public with a chance to talk with the Industry's leading companies about up-to-date technologies and the premiere of new products. A special "First Look Reception" will be held for press and conference attendees on Tuesday, February 18, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to check out the expo before it opens to the public.
