Excite and Intuit Partner, Excite Will Deliver financial info for Quicken Users

Excite Inc. and Intuit Inc. announced an alliance to bring the best financial information on the Internet directly to Quicken users.

The alliance is the first in a series planned to provide Quicken users with ongoing access to news and information on the Internet that helps them stay informed and make better financial decisions.

"Excite and Intuit both recognized early on the value of helping our customers cut through the clutter on the Internet by guiding them to the best of the `net'," said Eric Dunn, senior vice president of Intuit's Consumer/International Division. "Our customers tell us that they are very interested in exploring what the Web has to offer in financial information, but they are overwhelmed by the challenge of sorting through thousands and thousands of websites looking for useful information. Together, Excite and Intuit will make this as easy as using Quicken."

As the leading Internet navigation network, Excite continuously guides Internet users to the information they want most. In addition, Excite's knowledgeable and experienced team of editors deliver top-notch, objective information and commentary on topics relevant to the Internet community. In the personal finance area Excite's team is led by veteran financial journalist, Tony Cook. Cook has been a contributing writer for Money Magazine for seven years. He also has experience as a financial reporter and feature writer with various publications, including Forbes, the Washington Post, and the Los Angeles Times.

"We chose Excite as a partner because of the company's demonstrated ability to generate unique and quality content," said Dunn.

"Access to more than 9 million financially-oriented Quicken users provides Excite with an opportunity to further strengthen our position as the leading provider of editorial content on the Internet," said George Bell, president and CEO of Excite. "Intuit is clearly on the leading edge of what is likely to be a growing trend in the software industry -- providing users of desktop software with seamless access to news and information online. Now through the alliance with Excite, Intuit customers will gain an even greater ability to make informed financial decisions."
