South Korea's Hyundai Electronics Industries Co. said it'll invest $1.4 billion in a chip plant in Scotland, signaling yet again that semiconductor companies are easing their investment freezes. The Hyundai plant is the second major U.K. investment by a South Korean electronics company in four months, coming after the LG Group's July announcement that it will invest $2.6 billion to build chips and television parts in an industrial park in South Wales.
