Imaging Expo 1996 Show at NY Javits Center a success; Moves to Chicago in 1997

Overflowing attendance at Industry-Specific Workshops in document management and workflow automation technologies continued yesterday as Imaging Expo '96 drew to a close at New York City's Jacob Javits Center.

This three-day exposition, which is the largest and most comprehensive East Coast show devoted to integrated document imaging and information management, showcased new products and technologies from Lucent Technologies, Intertech, Unisys, Cornerstone and other industry leaders. "The high volume of CIO and upper management participation in the workshops, as well as in other aspects of the show, has been overwhelming," says Executive Director Bruce Taylor. "We attributed this to the in-depth, industry-specific focus of each of our programs which gave a better understanding of how new document management and workflow automation technologies can positively impact their operations.

" The Industry-Specific Workshops addressed real-world strategies and solutions in vertical markets, including insurance, healthcare, government, legal, and banking/finance. According to Taylor, this high level of interest by executives is a reflection of a shift in the document solutions industry from highly technical document imaging to more mainstream document management and workflow.

To reflect this broader context of integrated information management solutions for the industries that use imaging technology, the show's producers, Cardinal Business Media and IW magazine, have renamed the event "Document Image & Information Management Expo." Next year, it will go to Chicago for the first time from October 15-17, 1997 at McCormick Place. For further information, call 800-444-6243.
