"The Crow" CD-ROM Created With Apple Quicktime VR

The night is dark and its cold air smothers you like an icy blanket. As you fly through the city, the crow leads you inside an abandoned cathedral where a panoramic (Apple) QuickTime video plays revealing stained-glass windows, mysterious shrines and secret paintings. Graphix Zone , a leading interactive entertainment publishing company, today shipped "The Crow The Complete Interactive Collection" CD-ROM based on the comic book series by James O'Barr and the films "The Crow" and "The Crow: City Angels." The CD-ROM release is concurrent with the release of the highly-anticipated film "The Crow: City of Angels" and is a collaboration with Content, Inc., the new media subsidiary of Edward R. Pressman Film Corporation.

The disc immerses the user into the mysterious, gothic world of death, love and revenge made famous by James O'Barr's comic books and revealed through behind the scenes footage of both films including the unreleased "Skull Cowboy" from the first Crow film. It also features 120 film clips, interviews and biographies of the two casts, excerpts from O'Barr's famous graphic novel, as well as many unpublished O'Barr drawings which are also featured in an exclusive sketch book that is bundled with the CD-ROM.

"We concentrated very hard on making a product that caters to the comic book fan and movie-goer alike," said Russell Dunn, producer of the "The Crow The Complete Interactive Collection." "One of the reasons that The Crow series is so successful is that it is rich artistically with beautiful art and literary references. This quality has translated very well from the comic book, to the screen, and now to CD-ROM."

"The CD-ROM uses the interactive medium to create a truly immersive experience," said Miles Mogulescu, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Content, Inc. "It lets users spend hours exploring the dark, gothic world of `The Crow.'"

Other Features

The main screen interface shows a panoramic QuickTime VR walk-through (created with Apple Computer's QuickTime VR technology) of an abandoned gothic cathedral with navigation areas that lead to stained glass windows which explore the Crow themes of Pain, Atmosphere, Lament, Madness, Attrition, Crescendo and Forever, plus areas focused on Crow Film Casts, Graphic Novel, Skull Cowboy and Film Production.
